What is the CQA?
The Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) is a certification from ASQ, the American Society for Quality. It shows you understand the standards and principles of auditing, and how to plan, run and report on quality audits.
Quality auditors check whether an organization's processes follow its quality system and the standards it has adopted, such as international ISO standards.
Who is the CQA for?
The CQA suits you if you audit, or want to audit, quality systems. Think of work as an internal quality auditor, a quality officer, a supplier auditor or a compliance specialist.
It fits many sectors, including manufacturing, food, healthcare and services, wherever an organization runs a formal quality system.
What does it take to earn the CQA?
ASQ asks for work experience in quality, with part of it in a role where you made decisions. The amount of experience depends on your education.
You pass the CQA exam and agree to ASQ's Code of Ethics. To keep the CQA, you recertify through ASQ's recertification program.
Requirements can change. Check the ASQ website for the current details before you plan.
