What is LACPA?
LACPA is the Lebanese Association of Certified Public Accountants. Lebanon's Accountancy Profession Law, Law No. 364 of 1994, set it up as the body for the accountancy profession in the country.
LACPA grants the local certified public accountant title. Only certified public accountants registered with LACPA can perform audits and sign the auditor's report in Lebanon.
Who is the LACPA qualification for?
It suits you if you want to work as an auditor or public accountant in Lebanon, or in a finance role where the local title matters.
It is separate from the US CPA. If you plan to work mainly with US standards or abroad, compare the two.
What does it take to qualify?
LACPA asks for a university degree, a period of practical experience under the supervision of a LACPA member, and passing LACPA's professional examinations. Certified public accountants also complete continuing professional development each year.
Requirements can change. Check the LACPA website for the current details, including the exam content and dates.
